      Just a rule of the thumb. Roughly speaking Re = 20*Re_Tau up to a Re of 25000. After that you need to get some correlations or run precursor simulations.

      LowRE means no wall functions, that is, you are resolving the visocus sublayer. HighRE means you are using wall functions. The komega model is y+ insensitive.

    Hi there! I have a foreground mesh (overset) generated from third party software, which has placed the overset patch at the end. So, simply copying the oversetPatch in the boundary file from the end and pasting it in the beginning wont work due to face number inconsistency. So, is there any way to solve this issue? (And my background mesh is generated using blockMesh and SHM, in which the oversetPatch is successfully placed in the beginning.)

      Yes, that is covered in the videos. You need to use dummy patches. I dont recall the precise timestamp but we show two methods.

I am using a custom model or library which is perfectly ok and compiled with single core but for multiple cores while using this it gives couldn't find the library.so file. Could you please help me.       Check if you are loading the openmpi libraries. IT should work in serial and parallel out of the box.

      yes, you can have both of them installed at the same time. Use both at the same time maybe is not a good idea unless you have got a lot memory

      There are a lot of differences. The case setup are completily different. Also, programming is different. Howevr, boundary conditions are very similar.

    Hi, with your configuration which is the maximum number of 3D elements you can run? I have an i7-1335U and I struggle to open something more than 14M, running is impossibile. It's possible to make these RANS simulations on intel i9? Thank you.

      Well, depends of many factors. But if you are using a coupled solver, you will need a lot of memory. SEgregated solvers my rule is usually 1mill cells equal to 1GB RAM (roughtly speaking). In a notebook with 64 GB RAM I can run meshes of roughly speaking 50 mill cells.

      Not all CAD software support this. In onhsape I save the surface regions in different files. In some CAD tools you can save the geom in OBJ format and it will save the name of the patches, I think fusion3d and meshmixer support this feature.

      @@wolfdynamics5703 for blockmesh greater the size of stl files that is my stl model is covered by mesh created by block mesh but only one region is changing while run snappyhexmesh (walls ) I have used different angles but same issue. Then I overlapped the surface of blockmesh and my stl file then it creates a same snappyhexmesh like stl files shape. I there any error in my doing can you explain please

    Hi! Nice video! I have a simple question: looking at Omega and K values, I noticed that you used the wallfunctions at the wall. Since it is a wall resolved case, shouldn't we avoid that?

      The KOmega turbulence model is y+ insensitive. The wall function will take care of the treatment

    8:05 i think in the code expression the last expression will be fvm::laplacian(nu, fvm::div(T)) according to the expression, i am always accepting to be corrected if i am wrong

    doesn't it have staggered grids for solving, because of collocated grid it can cause checkerboard problem

      well, my advice is to stay with OF11 and don't look at previous version. They are very different and it will confuse you.

    Commas are extremely important, mostly where you place them, putting them at the beginning or at the end change the image a little but overall still the same. Hair Red, Jacket and Hair, Red Jacket creates completely different images, if you use large prompts is useful to separate the different ideas.
